| The history of this
beautiful town can be enjoyed at the local Fall River Mills museum. The
area is truly a paradise. The Fall River Mills
House was custom built in 1987 as a principal residence of a retired
professional from a fortune five hundred company. During the construction
(all construction done by an experienced, local contractor and the
contractor's son), the owner and his wife lived in a travel trailer on the
site so they could supervise the work daily. A few local people tell the
stories about the construction project. They tell about the daily inspection
ritual that the owner made each day of every single piece of lumber or
materials that arrived on the site. Each piece of lumber had to be
heartwood and any piece that did not meet with his approval was sent back.
This methodical and meticulous supervision truly led to a house that is not
only beautiful but also which may stand forever with attentive maintenance.
